Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner wraps up a week long stay at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.

Governor Rauner is calling for extensive renovation at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy including a total overhaul of the water system including possible total replacement.
Rauner says he would also like to see renovation work on existing buildings and and a possible new building.

Rauner also says Illinois Veterans Home officials have been working with the Centers For Disease Control in Atlanta on the presence of Legionella bacteria in the water supply since the outbreak of cases in 2015.

Rauner says recommended changes have been promptly Cost of the work depends exactly what is decided upon.

Rauner expects funding to come from federal and state sources and says help from philanthropists would be welcome. Rauner also praised residents and staff and he holds them in the highest regard.
