Let the Hannibal festival season begin.

Even though the long-range forecast for this weekend calls for a chance of snow Friday, cold Saturday and a tolerable Sunday (not very spring-like), the first of Hannibal's plethora of weekend festivals kicks off with the 11th annual Chocolate Extravaganza.

According to the Historic Downtown Hannibal website, this weekend is all about fun, friends and, of course, chocolate.

To get the full Chocolate Extravaganza experience, they encourage you to purchase your chocolate Passport. Your passport information of specials at businesses throughout the downtown area, along with special coupons that will more than pay for the cost of the passport.

If you don't a passport, that's okay. There will be plenty of specials and, of course, chocolate to enjoy.
