A police chase through Hancock County results in the arrest of a Ft. Madison, Iowa woman on multiple charges early Friday morning.

Hamilton Police Chief Nick Jamerson reports officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 136 east of Hamilton on 33 year old Jennifer Leggett at 2:30 a.m. Friday. Leggett allegedly left the scene, leading the Hamilton officer and a Hancock County deputy on a 16-mile chase.

The pursuit ended on a railroad bridge in Niota when Leggett rammed the Sheriff’s car.

No one was hurt.

Leggett was taken to the Hancock County Jail, charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, criminal damage to state supported property, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, driving under the influence of drugs, possession of methamphetamine and numerous other traffic violation.
