Iowa Woman in Hancock County Jail on Numerous Charges

A Burlington, Iowa woman awaits her first court appearance in Hancock County on a variety of charges.

Hamilton Police Chief Nick Jamerson reports that officers attempted a traffic stop in Hamilton just before midnight Friday.

The driver of the car, 19 year old Sophia Gregory, attempted to flee the scene but was stopped a short time later.

A search of Gregory’s car revealed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

According to Chief Jamerson, Gregory was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, possession of meth, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, possession of hypodermic needles and DUI.
