A couple of northeast Missouri football teams are still in the hunt as the postseason enters the state quarterfinal round.

In Class 1, the South Shelby Cardinals are on the road at Westran Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. The winner of that game takes on Penny, who beat Plattsburg 46-6 Friday night.

In Class 2, only quarterfinal game on the Saturday schedule is at Palmyra, where the Panthers host the Lutheran North Crusaders at 1 p.m. That game can be heard on 1070 AM or by clicking here.

In Friday night Class 2 action, South Callaway awaits the winner of the Palmyra-Lutheran North game as they beat East Buchanan 21-8. On the other side of the bracket, Malden handled Cardinal Ritter 47-6 and Lamar beat Strafford 48-17.

The big news in Class 4 was Helias losing to Kearney 23-20 in overtime Friday night.

In Illinois, the Camp Point Central Panthers host North Greene Saturday afternoon in Class 1A postseason action.
