Five Marijuana Trafficking Arrests in Quincy
West Central Illinois Task Force agents and Quincy Police report five marijuana trafficking arrests Sunday evening.
Authorities arrested 27 year old Porter Peoples III, 19 year old Deamontae Hill, 26 year old Rashad Snoddy,26 year old Marqualla Gholston and 28 year old Ebony Werner of Quincy following two traffic stops by the Quincy Police Street Crimes Unit at 200 Maine. Police say all were taken to the Adams County Jail. West Central Illinois Task Force Agents say the arrests were for cannabis trafficking and unlawful possession of over five thousand grams with intent to deliver. Agents say surveillance of the group was conducted as the obtained marijuana and brought it across state lines. Vehicle searches resulted in the seizure of approximately 85 pounds of marijuana. Agents say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
