Five inmates of the Adams County Jail have been charged in connection with an alleged escape attempt.

According to Adams County Sheriff Brian VonderHaar, deputies began an investigation Wednesday into information that several inmates were conspiring to attempt an escape from the jail.

As a result of the investigation, five inmates have been charged with attempted escape, conspiracy and criminal damage to government supported property.

The inmates have been identified as Brian Dyer, Patrick Lambert, Cody Felker, William Brewer and Jeffrey Schmidt.

Bond for Dyer has been set at $100,000, $15,000 for Lambert and $7,500 each for Felker, Brewer and Schmidt.

All five have court appearance set for Monday.
