Fire Truck Crash Kills Downing Man

A crash involving a fire truck en route to a fire early Monday evening claims the life of a Downing man.
The Missouri Highway Patrol says a fire truck driven by 33 year old Jesse Ketchum went off Missouri 15 norht of Memphis at 6:12 p-m. Ketchum and a passenger were thrown from the truck. Ketchum was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger—27 year old John Chancellor was taken by air evac helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries. The crash report indicates neither man was wearing a seat belt.
