Fire Causes Moderate Damage to Hannibal Home

(Hannibal)—An early morning fire causes moderate damage to a Hannibal residence.

Hannibal fire crews were called around 1:30 am to a report of a fire at 1238 Vermont Street. Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the two story residence.

Two residents of the home escaped without injury.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the kitchen area.  Crews remained on the scene for about an hour.

Hannibal Fire Department personnel investigated the fire’s origin and say the cause is accidental.
