Field Fire West of Palmyra

A trash fire expanded into a field fire Wednesday afternoon along Marion County Road 234 around eight miles west of Palmyra.

The landowner indicated to Palmyra firefighters that they thought the trash fire had been extinguished. The fire re-ignited and burned about 12 acres. Muddy field conditions hampered firefighting efforts.
