The annual Endless Summer Car Show will take place at the Illinois Veterans Home, 12th & Locust in Quincy, on September 8, 2013. This event, presented by the Tri-State Lugnuts Car Club, is always much appreciated by area car enthusiasts, as well as the veterans that reside at the home. The Lugnuts will also host a car cruise the night before the car show at the Quincy Mall. An outdoor movie will be shown during the car cruise.

The 23rd annual L-Bird Fly-in and Convention will take place at Keokuk Municiple Airport September 12 - 15. Three days of flying, food and fun. "All IBDA, ILPA, Liaisons, Trainers, Warbirds and Enthusiasts welcome!"

The Quincy Classic Boat & Outboard Show is September 6 - 8, featuring the Mississippi River Run from Hannibal to Quincy on Friday afternoon. The Mississippi River Run will begin at approximately 1 p.m. Over the weekend there will be in-water and static boat displays, a swap meet and BBQ.

The first-ever Mega Garage Sale in Hannibal is scheduled for September 14 at the Admiral Koontz Armory. Shopping hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Applications are now being accepted at the KHMO studios at 119 North Third Street in Hannibal from Yard/Garage sale participants, Flea Market Vendors, Crafters, Home-Based Companies (such as Avon, Mary Kay, Home Interiors, etc.) and small retail businesses. You can also download an application online.

High school football is an activity the area looks forward to every fall. Games are always fun to attend. The game between the Hannibal Pirates and the Quincy Notre Dame Raiders is becoming one that fans in Hannibal and Quincy look forward to each year. The Pirates will host the Raiders in 2013. The game is scheduled for Friday, August 30 at Porter Stadium. What a start to the season!

2013 will mark the 37th year for Hannibal's Autumn Historic Folk Life Festival, October 19 - 20. Main Street in downtown Hannibal will be closed to traffic, as arts & craft, food and cultural booths are set up down each side of the street. The Folk Life Festival is presented to educate and celebrate cultural heritage by showcasing historic crafts, food, music, performing arts and culture of the past.

The Louisiana Country Colorfest is scheduled for October 19 - 20. Louisiana R-2 Homecoming will coincide with Colorfest Weekend, as it will take place on October 18. The parade to kick-off the event is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. According to Louisianacolorfest.com:
