Dog Dragged on St. Louis Interstate Has New Home
A dog that nearly died after it was dragged behind a truck on an interstate in St. Louis is healthy again and has a new home.
Trooper, the pit bull-mix, went home Thursday with a St. Louis-area man who recently lost his pet pit bull.
The dog was 5 months old in November 2012 when he was dragged nearly a mile while tied to the trailer hitch of a pickup. The driver was not aware that the dog was tied to his truck.
Trooper, now about 19 months old, lost a leg and suffered other severe injuries. He was nursed back to health by the Humane Society of Missouri.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatchsays the new owner promises Trooper will be very happy.
