Decomposing Body Found on Back Porch North of Camdenton

The Camden County Sheriff's Department is investigating the discovery of a decomposing body on the back porch of a home north of Camdenton.

The sheriff's office says the property's landlord called Sunday afternoon after going to the home because the tenant could not be contacted.

Sgt. Chris Moehle says the body was so badly decomposed that officers weren't able to determine the person's gender or how long the remains had been on the porch.

KYTV reports the body was sent to the crime laboratory in Springfield. The sheriff's department is treating the home as a crime scene until investigators can determine what happened.
