A sick child wants a fireworks show, and her Missouri community is making it happen.

The Hannibal City Council on Tuesday agreed to launch fireworks sometime in the second week of December. The Quincy Herald-Whig reports that the show is on behalf of an 11-year-old girl identified only as Molly. Details about Molly's illness were not released.

Molly's initial wish was to go to Disney World and take in a fireworks show, but she became too ill. So Make-A-Wish Foundation coordinator Amanda made arrangements for a fireworks show in Hannibal.

Plans call for fireworks to be launched from Lover's Leap. Molly will view the show from the second floor of a downtown business.
