Two people escape serious injury after a fiery crash in Quincy. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office responded to Gardner Expressway just south of Lock and Dam Road at 2:33 a.m. Saturday.

Deputies say an SUV driven by 35 year-old Christina McClusky of Quincy veered off the roadway into a ditch before continuing across the parking lot of Trinity Industries. The vehicle came to rest after striking a utility pole and an LP tank. The SUV then caught on fire.

McClusky and a passenger, 38 year-old Jason Cutsinger of Hannibal were able to exit the vehicle. Both reported minor injuries.

Deputies arrested McClusky on charges of DUI and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

Deputies were assisted by Quincy Police, Tri-Township and Quincy Fire personnel.
