The City of Hannibal will be installing all five (5) of the floodgates in downtown Hannibal starting at 8:00 am, Friday , June 28, 2013..

The riverfront area, east of the floodwall will be closed to all traffic, effective midnight, Thursday, June 27, 2013, with the exception of emergency traffic and response personnel.

Although the Mississippi River receded to the 16 foot technical flood stage in Hannibal today, the National Weather Service predicts the river will rise to 22 feet by Monday, due to heavy rains to the north.
