A young Quincy man is free after the Adams County State’s Attorney’s office said there was not enough evidence to prosecute him for a mid February shooting incident.

25-year-old Trevon Runnels appeared in Adams County Circuit Court Tuesday where a charge of aggravated discharge of a firearm was dismissed.

Quincy Police were called to the 9th and Hampshire area at 2:33 a.m. February 15 and found a woman who had been shot in the legs. Police said witnesses reported there was an altercation in a nearby bar and when employees escorted people outside, an unidentified man began shooting from across the street.
