Changes Coming for NEMO Sheltered Workshop

A Hannibal area non-profit is making some changes.

Northeast Missouri Sheltered Workshop is becoming 2 Rivers Industries Incorporated. The change is part of an action plan for continuous improvement and sustainability.

Executive Director Melonie McAfee says their relationship with the community isn’t as strong as they would like, and that they have a vision for being better.

McAfee says their services include packaging, mailing and assembly, along with recycling. McAfee says improvements are also planned in their recycling efforts.

2 Rivers says a recently received grant will help with upgrades including new sorting stations, hydraulic lifts and engine replacements for current vehicles over the next six months.
