I'm exhausted following their journey and I'm not even the one hiking. A couple who are currently on an adventure to hike across America are currently right in the middle of Missouri.

I came across this adventure over the weekend which features Matt and Jen of the First Church of The Masochist Hikes YouTube channel. They've set out on a massive trek to hike from Delaware to San Francisco completely on foot. They're sharing videos daily documenting their journey and the many they've already shared about going through the middle of Missouri are fascinating.

I became aware of their project as they were hiking the Katy Trail through the Rocheport, Missouri area. As they've crossed the Show Me State, they've shared stories about some of the more iffy urban places they've had to cross along with some "stealth camping" along the Katy Trail with a few Airbnb's they've stayed in, too.

One interesting and unexpected challenge they ran into during the Missouri part of this hike is remnants of Hurricane Beryl brought flooding (up to a foot of water in some places) that they had to cross on the Katy Trail. Yes, because regular crossing America on dry land isn't hard enough, right?

As of this writing, they are currently passing through the Sedalia, Missouri area. I admire their bravery and sense of adventure. What they're doing is something I've always thought I'd like to do. However, my dreams have not even come close to reality and watching them cross Missouri (and the rest of the country) is likely as close as I'll get.
