Carthage Man Dead After Snowmobile Crash

Hancock County authorities report a snowmobile crash has left a rural Carthage man dead.

The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, one and a half miles northeast of Basco. Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies say 47-year-old Robert Clark was thrown from the snowmobile when it went into a ditch. He was taken to Carthage Memorial Hospital. The crash remains under investigation. He was reportedly wearing a helmet.

Hancock County EMS, Carthage Fire Department, and Air Evac crews assisted Hancock County Deputies at the scene.
