Fire crews responded to the structure fire in Nauvoo about 9:15 p.m. Friday. According to Fire Chief Kendall Gallaher, they arrived to fine the duplex well involved with heavy fire.

It took a little over a half hour to extinguish the blaze. It was originally feared that someone was in the building at the time of the fire, but he was found safe and unhurt.

The duplex was a total loss. Investigators with the Nauvoo Fire Protection District and the Illinois State Fire Marshal determined the fire had been deliberately set.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office announced Saturday the arrest of 62 year old Francine Jarrell of Nauvoo on an arson. She is in the Hancock County Jail without bond awaiting a court appearance.
