Two Quincy men get state prison time in connection with the beating of their roommate.

27-year-old Dillon Wexell and 24-year-old Shiloh Sparks, who are brothers, were each sentenced Wednesday to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The two pleaded guilty to aggravated battery with great bodily harm. They waived their right to a preliminary hearing and were sentenced Wednesday in Adams County Circuit Court.

Wexell and Sparks are alleged to have severely beaten a roommate on December 3, believing the man had had inappropriate sexual contact with a relative of Wexell’s.

As part of a plea agreement, the brothers agree to pay the victim’s medical bills, which total over $340,000.
