An autopsy shows a missing 23-year-old central Illinois woman likely drowned when her car went into the Illinois River.

The (Peoria) Journal Star reports the body of Julie Peters was identified through dental records.

Peters was last seen Sept. 28 when she left an American Legion in Chillicothe for a wedding reception. Her submerged car was found two blocks away on Monday.

The vehicle was discovered by two researchers who were scanning the river for Asian carp.

Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says toxicology tests will take about two to three weeks to complete.
