Authorities Identify Springfield Homicide Victim

Police have identified a Springfield homicide victim as a 48-year-old woman.

The Springfield News-Leader reports that officers discovered the body of Kathi H. Jones, of Springfield, on Monday. The officers had been responding to a request to check on the well-being of the home's residents when the discovery was made.

The death has been ruled a homicide. Police are not saying at this time how Jones was killed or how long she had been dead before authorities arrived.

Police say they do not have a suspect at this time. Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
