The life sentence of a Hannibal man on a sodomy charge has been upheld.

Attorneys for Andrew Crook had filed an appeal of the guilty verdict handed down by a Macon County jury in January.

The Missouri Court of Appeals upheld the verdict and the sentence of life plus ten years in prison on Monday.

Crook was alleged to have had sexual contact with a child under the age of 12 between February and August of 2015.

Marion County Prosecutor David Clayton applauds the ruling, saying that the community can now be assured that Crook will not have access to children again.
