All five of Hannibal’s flood gates will come out Tuesday morning.

In a press release, Hannibal Emergency Management Director John Hark announces that all of the city’s flood gates will be taken out beginning at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Heavy rains over Christmas weekend forced the installation of the gates Saturday and Sunday, December 26th and 27th.

The Mississippi River at Hannibal fell below flood stage late Sunday night, and is expected to continue to drop below 15 feet by Tuesday morning.
