The Quincy Herald Whig reports that an administrative assistant position within the department will be left vacant after a new deputy clerk is selected from the existing staff by Lori Geschwandner, who was elected circuit clerk last week.

The county is now facing a projected deficit of $46,800 instead of $86,000.

The 2013 fiscal year budget, which starts Dec. 1, calls for $13.341 million in general fund expenses, up 0.3 percent, and revenues of $12.623 million, an increase of 2 percent.
