Northeast Missouri and western Illinois' first blast of wintry weather appears headed this way.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Missouri counties of Knox, Lewis, Marion, Monroe, Ralls and Shelby  and the Illinois counties of Adams, Brown and Pike from midnight until noon Sunday.

Forecasters say that total snow accumulations of two to four inches are expected in the area from about 4 a.m. until noon Christmas Eve.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of
accumulating snow will primarily cause travel difficulties. Roads
may rapidly become slippery once the snow begins, so motorists
should plan for a slower than normal trip. Be especially alert
when approaching bridges, overpasses, and curves.

For the latest road conditions, you can go to the MODOT or IDOT websites.
