White Pleads Not Guilty to Church Embezzlement
The Hannibal man alleged to have stolen more than $300,000 from a rural Hannibal church was in court Monday.
In U.S. District Court in St. Louis, 68 year old Donald White pleaded not guilty to two counts of wire fraud.
White is alleged to have embezzled over $320,000 from Antioch Baptist Church for his personal benefit and the benefit of others.
White served as the church’s treasurer from 1994 through 2016.
According to Ralls County Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie, White had been suspected of stealing from the church prior to the December, 2016 fire that burned the Antioch church to the ground.
