Oxygen will feature the story of Deputy Robert Blythe who in the early morning of August 23, 2005 went to a home to answer a 911 call in Claremont, Illinois. The deputy described what he saw to the Oxygen interviewer saying "“When I got there, there was a pregnant woman that screamed at me that somebody had been shot and somebody had been stabbed and they were inside the house,”.

Joshua Bennett had been staying at the home of his mother and her boyfriend. Little did he know that his ex-girlfriend Irenia Cotner who was reportedly involved in witchcraft convinced her "coven" that a hex had been put on them. The night before in a satanic ceremony, she told her group that the only way to remove it was to kill a pregnant woman and her unborn child. Those involved according to the story were Irenia Cotner, Jenny Wolfe, Oscar Eck, and Misty Gangloff.

Two members of the group entered the home where Josh and his family were staying and first stabbed his mother. As Josh Bennett came to her aid, he was stabbed and killed. The boyfriend's son Jackie Jackson shot one intruder and stabbed the other. He would be one of the first to speak to Deputy Blythe when he arrived at the scene.

Sadly, Joshua Bennett died from his injuries that night. As for Irenia and her coven, David Lindner died from his injuries while Jenny T. Wolfe was convicted of first-degree murder, home invasion, and conspiracy to commit murder. Misty D. Gangloff pled guilty to conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Oscar Eck pled guilty to one count of first-degree murder.

Irenia Cotner was convicted of first-degree murder, conspiracy of first-degree murder, and home invasion. She won't be eligible for parole until the year 2063.

If you have access to the Oxygen channel, the story of Deputy Blythe and the satanic cult of Richland County will be shown at 5p central time this Sunday, September 25, 2022.
