US 61 Work at Palmyra Complete

(Palmyra) – Improvements at three busy intersections along U.S. 61 in Palmyra are complete.

Monday night, crews with Chester Bross Construction put the finishing touches to the Thompson Street intersection. Earlier, improvements had been done at Ross and Main Cross Streets.

Work included widening of median areas and new turn lanes.

Also, the speed limit on 61 will be lowered to 55 miles per hour from the Missouri 168 interchange to Main Cross.

The total project took about $1.2 million dollars to complete.
