US 61 Hannibal Bypass Hits Snag

A resolution supporting construction of a bypass for US 61 around Hannibal comes up short. Hannibal City Council members discussed the proposal again after tabling the matter two weeks ago. Mayor Roy Hark opposes the project saying it would harm the local economy. Other council members disagreed, but a resolution in favor of the bypass failed to gain approval last night.
