United Way COVID Relief Fund Gets Check from General Mills
One of the United Way’s biggest corporate supporters has come through again to help support COVID-19 relief efforts.
The United Way of the Mark Twain Area announced Thursday they will be getting another $35,000 from the General Mills Foundation for its COVID-19 Response Fund. This brings the total given by General Mills locally to $182,000.
Nationwide, the General Mills Foundation has committed $1-million dollars to communities most impacted by coronavirus, bringing immediate support to those who need it most.
Locally, the United Way’s COVID Response Fund has been put to use to help with special projects and to assist 30 area non-profit organizations that have seen a decrease in funding, increase in demand or a change in how they have had to do business because of COVID-19.
