A traffic stop by Illinois State Police near 4th and Broadway in Quincy at 10:10 Wednesday night results in methamphetamine and marijuana charges for a young Quincy man.

Troopers stopped a car for illegal sound amplification and a defective side window and windshield. A Quincy Police K9 unit conducted a free air sniff around the vehicle and alerted on the smell of narcotics coming from within the car. A search yielded marijuana and items used to manufacture meth including Coleman fuel and instant cold packs.

The driver—24 year old Michael Schumm was taken to the Adams County Jail.
