During this time, the traffic signals will be turned off and covered and traffic on Broadway will not be required to stop. There will be stop signs on 25th Street requiring all traffic crossing or entering Broadway Street to stop.

If The Illinois Department of Transportation study confirms that signals are no longer needed at 25th & Broadway they will be permanently removed.

This study is part of the initial steps for the upcoming Broadway Street improvement project that goes from west of 12th Street to west of 38th Street, which is scheduled to begin in 2025.

This will help make traffic flow move quicker going North to South and vice versa, but trying to make a left-hand turn could be an issue and you might have to use the 24th & Broadway signal to make that turn safely.
