The Hannibal Salvation Army will be hosting an old fashioned Open Air Service as part of its 125th Anniversary celebration. It will be held on Sunday, September 27 at 2:00pm in Hannibal’s Central Park at Fifth and Broadway.

Major Ronald Key, a former Hannibal Salvation Army officer, will return to lead this outdoor worship service, which will include a brass band performance. This event will also serve as a reunion of former Hannibal Salvation Army officers, church members, and past board members.

Outdoor worship has been an integral part of The Salvation Army since its founding 150 years ago. The purpose of the Open Air Service was to “take the church to where the people are.”

This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and come celebrate The Salvation Army’s 125 years of service to the Hannibal area.

In the event of rain, the service will be held at First Methodist Church at 901 Broadway in Hannibal.
