You probably know by now that Missouri is in for a major winter storm because you've heard the warnings from the National Weather Service, but the real sign of doom is the arrival of Jim Cantore. The Weather Channel's storm nerd has now arrived in Kansas City.
If there is any way you can avoid it, authorities are warning that you should not travel through most parts of Missouri and Illinois on Sunday as conditions are expected to be treacherous.

Damage from the July 13 windstorm that tore through Quincy is still clearly visible along city streets. Things are finally starting to return to normal in Quincy, but the volume of debris left from the storm will take some time to clean up.
A recent storm that ripped through Quincy took with it many of the western Illinois city's oldest and grandest trees — including one giant black oak thought to be nearly 300 years old.
An army of volunteers assisted the elderly and disabled to remove debris from their properties over the weekend. They worked in high heat and humidity along with some rain at times as part of the "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" campaign. Unfortunately, they were able to do just so much. Most of them needed to return to work today. Much more needs to be done in the city's recovery. With th
