As a kid growing up in Missouri, I learned fast to understand the difference between my parents asking me to do something or them telling me to do something. That lesson is coming in handy as I can tell that Missouri wants me to stop unnecessarily idling my car engine - or else.

I think it goes without saying (but I will say it) that I'm not a fancy fellow. That's one of the reasons I am quite pleased to report that Missouri has been ranked as one of the least expensive states to live in based on science. Yay for cheap.

I don't like to be told what to do or what not to do, so perhaps I should change my advice to "maybe". This is in regards to the cheapest city you can buy a home in Illinois, but probably don't. I'll explain why.

I admit that I don't always agree with assertions the internet makes, but in this case I do. A recent visit by a prominent YouTuber highlighted what he believes is the 'most destroyed' town in Illinois and he's not wrong. It is way past the point of no return sadly.

This appears to be a major shakeup in the banking industry. One of the most prominent banks in America announced they are closing more than 100 locations and I've confirmed that 1 of them is in Missouri.

If you have enough food to eat and a roof over your head, you are blessed. Many in Missouri do not have that assurance. There's one place in particular where the poverty rate is higher than anyplace else and it's a city where more than half of the people there suffer.

It's one of the fastest growing towns in America, but it didn't used to be that way. What is being called the biggest 'boomtown' in Iowa actually started with a meager 7 houses and a tiny church.

What's more important to you? Saving money or living? Depending on how you answer that, you might be interested to know that to live in Missouri's cheapest place, you also need to be ready to dance with danger based on statistics. Let's see if it's worth the price you pay (pun intended).
