A collision involving an SUV and a freight train results in serious injuries for a Louisiana Missouri woman late Thursday morning.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says the collision occurred at 11:30 a.m. at 301 Sunoco Drive on Louisiana's southwest side. The crash report says a southbound SUV driven by 37-year-old Marvin Burse of Louisiana entered a Kansas City Southern railroad crossing and was struck on the driver’s side by a westbound train.

Burse received minor  injuries and was taken to Pike County Memorial Hospital by ambulance. A passenger, 25-year-old Nicole Ivey of Louisiana, had serious injuries and was taken by helicopter to Barnes Jewish in St. Louis.
