A Quincy man charged in a 2015 shooting death will be getting a new attorney.

In Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday, Chief Public Defender Todd Nelson told Judge Robert Adrian that he had discovered a conflict of interest and could no longer represent Steven Gavin.

Nelson said another attorney would be appointed.

The 54 year old Gavin faces four counts of first degree murder and one count of armed robbery in the November 23rd, 2015 shooting death of 48 year old Carlous Wires at his residence on North 4th Street.

A preliminary hearing in the case is set for June 7th.

Gavin is in the Adams County Jail on $5-million dollars bond.
