State Auditor to Conduct Audit of Monroe City Government
The Missouri State Auditor has begun an audit of the city government of Monroe City.
According to State Auditor Nicole Galloway, a citizen petition was submitted requesting the audit.
Galloway said her office would conduct a thorough and independent investigation into the operations and practices of Monroe City government.
Under Missouri law, anyone can file a petition with at least 200 signatures to the auditor to request an audit of a municipality.
