Serious Warnings About St. Louis, Missouri Air Quality Sunday

The good news is there are many great reasons to be outside in St. Louis, Missouri Sunday. The bad news is that many will need to be very careful as the National Weather Service has issued serious warnings about air quality today.

The National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri issued this warning today about what's going on with the atmosphere above the big city.

In case you can't read the small print on their graphic, it's an alert that the air in St. Louis is "unhealthy" Sunday for "elderly individuals, children and those with heart/lung conditions due to relatively high levels of ozone".

The Air Now graphic shows this is what is known as an "alert day" for air quality in St. Louis.

They note that levels in the afternoon are likely to be the most troublesome which could be a problem for the many St. Louis Cardinals/Chicago Cubs fans who will be at Busch Stadium for the baseball game today.
