Springfield Man in Jail on Suspicion of Pike County Burglaries
A Springfield, Illinois man is in the Pike County Jail in connection with a burglary over the weekend at a Pittsfield business.
According to Pittsfield Police Chief Kenneth Yelliott, officers responded to a report of a burglary Sunday night at the William Watson Hotel in Pittfield.
Surveillance video led investigators to 29 year old Aaron Coats, who was arrested Monday at Wal-Mart in Pittsfield.
When he was approached by officers, Coats allegedly gave a fake name and had some of the property stolen in the burglary in his possession.
Coats is also a person of interest in two other burglaries at businesses in Pittsfield.
Coats is in custody on suspicion of burglary, theft and obstruction of justice.
