Bond is $2 million for an 18-year-old Springfield man accused of shooting his 17-year-old brother dead over a dozen pairs of shoes and cash.

The (Springfield) State Journal-Register reports that Juan Kincade made his first appearance in Sangamon County Court on Tuesday via video. He faces counts of first-degree murder and theft.

Police accuse him of killing his brother, Juwan Kincade, on Thursday. Authorities say Juwan's mother came home that afternoon and found him dead on the living room floor. The coroner's office says the teen died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Kincade's attorneys have asked the judge to consider a lower bond at a later date. Defense attorney William Vig says he is conducting his own investigation while the official investigation is ongoing.
