Shine a Light on Autism Lighthouse Challenge, Relay for Life and More on the Weekend Schedule
If you're in search of ways to have a good time for a good cause, there are a number of opportunities to do just that around the area this weekend.
The Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation and the Hannibal Rite Care hosts a wine tasting at Cave Hollow West Winery at Mark Twain Cave Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. Proceeds benefit the hospital's Pediatric Speech Therapy Department.
Saturday is the Ralls County American Cancer Society Relay for Life, with opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. at Mark Twain High School in Center.
Meanwhile, the Flower Children Marion County Relay for Life team hosts its 15th annual Spring Fling Saturday at the American Legion Hall in Palmyra, with a social hour at 5 p.m.
The annual Shine a Light on Autism Lighthouse Challenge fund raiser steps off at the Tom and Huck statue Saturday at 8 a.m.
The Ashburn Rural Volunteer Fire Department hosts a turkey shoot to raise money for equipment and operating expenses Sunday at the fire station at noon.
And, the Ansar Mini-Mule Hitch Champagne Brunch is Sunday at Cedar Crest Country Club in Quincy, with the proceeds to benefit the Ansar Mini-Mules.
Also on the weekend calendar is the Hannibal Concert Association's final event of the season, as the Alliance Brass Quintet appears in the Hannibal High School Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.
There will be a meeting at 3 p.m. Saturday for those interested in an Ultimate Frisbee league in Hannibal. The meeting will convene at the Hannibal Parks and Recreation Field at Seventh and Warren Barrett Drive.
And, downtown Hannibal's annual spring clean up is Saturday from 8 a.m. till noon. Activities start at the Y Men's pavilion at 105 Hill Street. It's sponsored by the Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce and the 1819 Hannibal Stream Team.
