Scam Investigation Results in Arrest in Quincy

An investigation into a possible scam results in an arrest on charges of methamphetamine possession and theft by deception.

Quincy Police were investigating a possible scam where a man was talking loudly into a cell phone about a family emergency and needing money. Investigators developed 23-year-old Shawn LaLond of Quincy as a suspect.

During the investigation police determined LaLond had been to several businesses in attempts to get people to give him money. LaLond is held in the Adams County Jail. If you believe you were a victim in this case, contact Quincy Police.
