Runner Injured During Sunday Morning Event in Quincy

A Shelbyville woman is recovering from injuries after being hit by a minivan during Sunday morning's Kellys/ YMCA St. Patrick's Day run.
Quincy Police say 60 year old Cheresa Stelle was running west in the westbound lanes at 4221 Maine. Stelle was struck from behind by a slow moving minivan driven by 80 year old Barbara Rhinberger of Quincy. Stelle was knocked to the ground and sustained a broken ankle and other injuries. Witnesses told Quincy Police that Rhinberger was driving slow but very close to
runners. Maine Street in that area was open to traffic at the time.
