Hannibal Parks & Rec

The Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department is closing the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center again.

Parks and Rec announced Monday that, in anticipation of a sharp rise in Mississippi River levels this week, the center is being closed Tuesday until further notice so the center can be prepared for high water.

The center had reopened less than a week ago as river levels dropped. But, with the river now predicted to rise another four feet by the weekend, the decision was made to close the center until further notice, effective Tuesday.
