Governor Pat Quinn got a flu shot and he's urging everyone else in Illinois to do the same.

The governor got his shot at a downtown Chicago Walgreens store on Friday. He says if others get shots at Walgreens they will not only help themselves but also help people in developing countries.

Walgreens and the United Nations Foundation's Shot@Life program runs until Oct. 14. If people get their shots or other vaccines at select Walgreens, the company will donate up to 3 million vaccines to children in developing countries around the world.

Quinn also says that Illinois residents should act quickly because the flu season hit early last year.
