Quincy Woman Gets Community Service for Leaving Child in Hot Van
A Quincy woman who pleaded guilty in connection with an incident last August at a day care facility she ran was sentenced Wednesday.
37-year-old Tasha Farris gets a year conditional discharge, 200 hours of public service, a $1,500 fine and $430 restitution.
Farris pleaded to reckless conduct in connection with an incident in which she allegedly left a one year old child unattended in a van in 90-plus degree heat for about a half-hour.
The child was treated at Blessing Hospital and released the next day.
Farris’ day care is no longer licensed by the state.
